Literasi digital di SMP: Memanfaatkan extensive reading central untuk peningkatan minat baca bahasa inggris

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut dengan memperkenalkan Extensive Reading Central (ER Central) sebagai platform literasi digital. Kegiatan ini dirancang sebagai intervensi partisipatif yang menggabungkan workshop blended learning (70% praktik, 30% teori), demonstrasi langsung, dan pendampingan individu. Sebanyak 24 siswa kelas VIII terlibat dalam sesi pelatihan penggunaan fitur-fitur ER Central, seperti graded readers dan vocabulary tracking. Efektivitas program dievaluasi menggunakan model Kirkpatrick, yang mencakup pre-test/post-test, kuesioner, dan FGD. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan. Pemahaman peserta tentang extensive reading meningkat 29,8 poin (dari rerata pre-test 52,3 menjadi post-test 82,1). Sebanyak 92% peserta (22 dari 24 siswa) menyatakan komitmen untuk menggunakan platform secara mandiri. Analisis kualitatif mengungkap transformasi motivasi dari ekstrinsik ke intrinsik dan pergeseran identitas dari konsumen pasif menjadi pembelajar aktif. Program ini berhasil membuktikan bahwa ER Central, ketika diimplementasikan melalui pendekatan blended learning dan pendampingan yang tepat, dapat menjadi solusi efektif untuk meningkatkan minat baca dan literasi digital siswa di daerah pinggiran. Tingkat adopsi yang tinggi dan peningkatan pemahaman yang signifikan menjadikan model ini layak untuk direplikasi di sekolah-sekolah dengan konteks serupa.
