The construction of small reservoirs can improve water availability for irrigation and domestic needs; however, changes in hydrological conditions and land use may also influence the ecological characteristics of surrounding areas. The Kembar Small Reservoir (Embung Kembar) in Suela District, East Lombok Regency, was developed to support water resource availability for local communities, yet its ecological implications require systematic assessment. This study aims to analyze the ecological conditions following the construction of the Kembar Small Reservoir, with particular attention to vegetation, soil conditions, water availability, and biodiversity in the surrounding area. The study employed a quantitative descriptive approach using a field survey. Data were collected through direct observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation involving local communities and relevant environmental conditions around the reservoir. The collected data were analyzed descriptively using percentage calculations to identify patterns and characteristics of the observed ecological components. The findings provide an overview of the ecological conditions associated with the presence of the reservoir and identify environmental aspects requiring attention in its management. The results are expected to provide an empirical basis for developing sustainable management strategies that balance water-resource utilization with ecological conservation. This study contributes to the assessment of the environmental implications of small-reservoir development at the local level, particularly in semi-rural areas of East Lombok.
