Eksplorasi etnomatematika budaya menenun kain adat Desa Oeltua dan integrasinya dalam pembelajaran matematika

Matematika memiliki keterkaitan erat dengan budaya, di mana keduanya memainkan peran penting dalam kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi unsur-unsur etnomatematika dalam budaya menenun kain adat di Desa Oeltua, Kecamatan Taebenu, Kabupaten Kupang, serta mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis budaya lokal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif eksploratif dengan desain etnografi. Penelitian ini melibatkan sembilan informan yang dipilih secara purposif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi langsung, dan dokumentasi, sedangkan keabsahan data diuji dengan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam proses menenun kain adat terdapat aktivitas matematis yang mencerminkan karakteristik etnomatematika, seperti menghitung jumlah benang, mengukur panjang atau lebar, merancang motif, dan menjelaskan tahapan menenun. Aktivitas-aktivitas tersebut memuat konsep matematika seperti penjumlahan, perkalian, satuan waktu, sistem bilangan, geometri, transformasi geometri, dan logika. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, peneliti mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran kontekstual yang mengangkat konsep geometri dan transformasi geometri dari motif tenun adat sebagai media pembelajaran matematika.
