Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Hawu Mehara sehingga menyebabkan siswa kesulitan menyelesaikan soal-soal dalam kehidupan sehari-hari pada materi peluang. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Hawu Mehara pada materi peluang melalui penerapan model pembelajaran problem based learning berbantuan media powerpoint interaktif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam 4 tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi sedangkan analisis data berupa deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebesar 58.13% pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 76.31% pada siklus II. Peningkatan juga terjadi pada persentase rata-rata indikator berpikir kritis yaitu: 1) Interpretasi dari 54.08% menjadi 75.00%; 2) Analisis dari 56.16% menjadi 79.71%; 3) Evaluasi dari 70.65% menjadi 79.89%; 4) Inferensi dari 51.63% menjadi 70.65%. Disamping itu, persentase aktivitas siswa meningkat dari 76.46% pada siklus I menjadi 100% pada siklus II dan aktivitas guru meningkat dari 94.20% pada siklus I menjadi 100% pada siklus II. Dengan demikian, kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa meningkat melalui penerapan model pembelajaran problem based learning berbantuan media powerpoint interaktif.
